Goldberg: ‘No’ to Obama's Experimental Government...Give it a Fucking Rest
By PissNVinegar
Wed Nov 19, 2008 11:43 PM
On Sunday night, President-elect Barack Obama told 60 Minutes that Franklin D. Roosevelt would be a model of sorts for him. “What you see in FDR that I hope my team can emulate is not always getting it right, but projecting a sense of confidence and a willingness to try things and experiment in order to get people working again.” This is a problematic standard. What do you want in a surgeon? One who “gets it right” or one who projects “a sense of confidence?” Ditto accountants, defense lawyers, mechanics and bomb-disposal technicians: cocky and self-assured, or gets it right? Before you answer that, please ask yourself what your point of view on this question was during the eight years of the Bush administration. In short, there can be a chasm between being right and merely appearing to be right. Why anyone stakes greater value on the appearance than reality is a mystery to me.

Socialist Enviro-Psychos Conspire to Cause American Depression
By hawk7
Wed Nov 19, 2008 04:19 PM
If it matters to everyone so much, why shouldn't the U.S. just go ahead and sign on to the Kyoto accords? Well, remember the Eastern European economies. They had to basically collapse in order to help the world meet its Kyoto goals. That's what it would take in the U.S., too. This is the hidden truth about Kyoto: It isn't greenhouse gases the U.N. wants to control. It's big, successful capitalist economies like America's that it wants to rein in. (The world's fastest-growing polluters, India and China, are exempt.) The U.N. itself estimates that reducing global warming would require a permanent hit of at least 1.5% of world GDP — or roughly $1 trillion a year for decades to come.

The Right To Win
By Aunt_Sam
Wed Nov 19, 2008 12:37 PM
Americans have long had the right to put their candidates and their ideas to a vote. Now there seems to be a sense that your rights have been trampled on if you don't win.
The worst of all the reactions from people who act as if they have a right to win have come from gay activists in the wake of voter rejection of so-called "gay marriage," which is to say, redefining what marriage has meant for centuries. *** Blacks and Mormons have been the main targets of the gay activists' anger. Seventy percent of blacks voted against gay marriage in California, so racial epithets were hurled at blacks in Los Angeles— not in black neighborhoods, by the way.

I think the first thing you need before you get a dime of our hard earned tax dollars is some very plain, honest talk. Talk you should have listened to and heeded years ago. I'm retired now. That means I live on a combination of social security and monies I have saved and invested years ago in preparation for the days when I would stop working and kick back a bit. I'm not wealthy; I am comfortable, although my comfort level is diminishing each day that our congress and folks like you want a piece of what I have saved to bail your sorry asses out of a fix of your own making.

Bailout Welfare: Why Bailouts to Detroit are a Waste of Taxpayers' Earnings
By PissNVinegar

Detroit, Mich. — General Motors is not competitive. That is the conclusion, not of conservative D.C. critics or Wall Street investors, but of officers with the Detroit auto-parts suppliers who do business every day with America’s largest car company — and with its Japanese competitors. It is an open secret in the Motor City that — even leaving aside its high labor costs, surplus of brands, and bloated dealer network — GM’s manufacturing culture is inefficient compared to foreign rivals Toyota and Honda.

Obama's NSA And CIA Picks: Harsh On Israel, Sympathetic To Iran And Hezbollah
By hawk7
Tue Nov 18, 2008 08:23 PM
Well that was totally unpredictable wasn't it? General James L. Jones is widely rumored to be Obama's preferred candidate to be White House National Security Adviser... Jones prepared a report on Israel's policies in the territories... The World Tribune said it "blasted Israel's role" for "hampering the movement of PA forces, blocking plans for weapons shipments and technology to the Palestinians and resisting coordination." ... Obama said this about Jones: "Let me tell you who I associate with... If I'm interested in figuring out my foreign policy, I associate myself with my running mate, Joe Biden or with Dick Lugar...or General Jim Jones, the former supreme allied commander of NATO." Totally, totally unpredictable: John Brennan... is rumored to be Obama's pick to head the CIA. Brennan published a long article on Iran in July 2008... "... U.S. national security would be best served if Washington publicly acknowledged and explored the roots of this shift in Iranian state support for terrorist activities ... the new U.S. administration must be willing to exercise strategic patience....It would not be foolhardy, however, for the United States to tolerate, and even to encourage, greater assimilation of Hezbollah into Lebanon's political system. Well done America. What a bunch of fucking idiots.

The signal to RNC members: Republicans must embrace the Web as a tool just as aggressively as Democrats. WASHINGTON - President-elect Barack Obama's aides have privately asked senators whether Washington attorney Eric Holder would be confirmed as the next attorney general, according to a person involved in the talks. The talks suggest that Obama is deeply interested in Holder, who served as the No. 2 official in the Justice Department under President Clinton. In the past week, Obama aides have asked Senate Republicans whether they would support Holder. In particular, the aides questioned whether Holder's confirmation would be delayed because of his involvement in the 2001 pardon of fugitive Marc Rich by President Bill Clinton. Why Dogs, Not Liberals, Are Man's Best Friend
By Aunt_Sam
Tue Nov 18, 2008 04:02 PM
*** For instance, how often have we read newspaper editorials arguing for Affirmative Action in schools and in the work place? In most cases, those pieces are not being written or edited by members of a racial minority group. So, if they were sincere, shouldn't these journalists clear out their desks and surrender their jobs to somewhat less qualified, but far more deserving, blacks and Hispanics? *** Or consider, if you will, how consistently liberals object to tax cuts. They prattle on incessantly about how much the wealthy benefit, ignoring the logic that if there's a 10% reduction across the board, it figures that the person who pays more will save more. But, when liberals blather about the inequities of tax cuts, you realize they actually believe that if a millionaire saves fifty thousand on his tax bill, the guy who only earns, say, thirty grand-a-year should get the same return!
Finally, I have never heard a liberal speak out in favor of school vouchers. Instead, they wave the flag for public schools, even though everybody in his right mind knows that, in spite of the No Child Left Behind program, a majority of public schools in America are a disgrace. The system has routinely passed along youngsters who wound up graduating from high school lacking self-discipline and even rudimentary math and reading skills. Yet, every liberal in Congress can be counted on to pay lip service to public education, although not one of them has a child enrolled in the Washington, D.C., school system!
Save a dog, euthanize a LIEbral instead.

Obama Declares War on Conservative Talk Radio
By Aunt_Sam
Tue Nov 18, 2008 02:57 PM
** Obama needs only three votes from the five-member FCC to define localism in such a way that no radio station would dare air any syndicated conservative programming. ** Localism is one of the rare issues on which Obama himself has been outspoken. ** On September 20, 2007, Obama submitted a pro-localism written statement to an FCC hearing held at the Chicago headquarters of Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr.'s Operation Push. ** Furthermore, the Obama transition team knows all about the potential of localism as a means of silencing conservative dissent. The head of the Obama transition team is John Podesta, President and CEO of the Center for American Progress. ** In 2007, the Center for American Progress issued a report, The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio. This report complained that there was too much conservative talk on the radio because of "the absence of localism in American radio markets" and urged the FCC to "[e]nsure greater local accountability over radio licensing.
And so it begins.

How the Academic Left Elected Obama
By Aunt_Sam
Tue Nov 18, 2008 02:01 PM
MSNBC's exit polling, which is consistent with other exit polling, showed that voters aged 18-29, who made up nearly one in five voters -- or about 25 million ballots -- went for Obama by more than two to one: 66 to 32 percent. Those voters alone well exceeded Obama's overall popular vote advantage, which was roughly eight million. Likewise, 11 percent of voters were first-time voters, and they went for Obama at an even higher rate: 69 to 30 percent. Single (unmarried) voters, which constituted one in three voters, went for Obama 65 to 33 percent.
As I said, the ignorant, whitey guilt, the indoctrinated and the racists elected UhBongo...
The fruits of the left's dogged work were on display on November 4, 2008. And now, alas, to paraphrase the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, America's chickens have come home to roost.

When open-border enthusiasts discover that I’m both an immigrant (from South Africa, via Canada) and an immigration restrictionist, they often order me to go back whence I came, mouthing the mantra about "a nation of immigrants." Maybe they’re right. Maybe Obamao’s multicultural America has no use for a contrarian, with an anachronistic attachment to British English style and to the ideas of limited government and self-governance. This scribe’s spouse, however, is a different matter entirely. The scientifically super-smart nestle under the far reaches of the IQ Bell Curve, and are, therefore, in short supply. That their skills make the developed world go around also helps immeasurably to make them highly desirable immigrants. As Peter Bauer (and Brimelow) have belabored, economic development is not a function of cheap, abundant labor, but of innovation. A superpower, even if it’s on the decline, ought to be emphasizing innovation-oriented, not labor-intense, forms of production. More mechanization and less Mexicanization..
