Also, the revolver is not rusty at all, it has a nice patina which you're not supposed to remove on an antique like that. The bore is bright with great rifling;

Anyway, for home defense purpose I've got a 12 gauge.
I don't consider myself under-armed.

Not old ones. The firearms in my family date from the 20th century and I don't see that, although to be honest when a gun gets several decades old, we retire it. It don't shoot my dads old guns because they are keepsakes. I buy new ones. Do you french girls ever get new guns?

Well I am not interested in "brand new" guns.

I'm a collector before being a shooter. I want my guns to carry History, stainless crap leaves me cold.
I don't mind scars on my pets as long as they are mechanically sound and safe to be shot. I even reload my own ammo for obsolete calibers.

That one is the model 1873. It had an "in the white" finish to start with, so I didn't mind cleaning it real good.
It's bright as a bordello's doorknob now... Which I kinda regret.

I've put well over 5k rounds through my favorite wheel gun, no "tobacco" discoloration from camera flashes.
